A one in a million deal to consider owning this 5 stars TripAdvisor acclaimed property in this lovely paradise called Dominica .  Over the last 14 years visitors both locals and foreigners enjoyed the privacy and heartwarming atmosphere.

The main house at Beau Rive was completed in June 2003 and sits amid 3 acres of lush, undeveloped hillside, 250 feet above the Atlantic coast and 40 minutes drive south of Douglas-Charles airport.  The setting is secluded with mature gardens and forest leading down to the Richmond River, being the lower most boundary.

Although, a steel-framed construction, the style and design were based on traditional Caribbean plantation houses so the feel of the property is more that of a large house, than a hotel.  The concept, to create an intimate and rather old-fashioned ambiance offering comfortable accommodation in a peaceful and pristine environment.  All guestrooms face the ocean and benefit from the same generous dimensions, high ceilings, jallousy shutters and verandas.  Public rooms included a lounge, library and upstairs, a bar, dining room and outdoor dining terrace.

During the subsequent fourteen years as more rooms were added in cottages, Beau Rive became a favorite destination for many new and repeat visitors, as well as journalists and travel writers.  The stella reputation achieved was consistent, with 98 percent of its reviews on TripAdvisor rated as “excellent”, 1 percent as “very good” and 1 percent “Average”.

Because of Beau Rive’s design, it could easily be reappointed as a private dwelling in various configurations including staff accommodation and a guest cottage.

Damage from Hurricane Maria:

The hotel suffered extensive damage but the steel frame structure of the main house remains in sound condition and as new.  However, there is water damage to sections of the interior requiring the replacement of dry wall (sheet rock).  In addition, one entire roof needs replacing, one veranda roof outside 3 rooms in the main house needs replacing and one individual cottage room lost half its roof.

The cottage beside the pool containing 2 guestrooms is undamaged.

Renovation of the hotel is under tender and its asking price will rise as repairs advance.  Offers are welcome and will be considered at any stage during this process.

 What remains:

9  guestrooms with private shower, 2  reception rooms, entrance hall, cloak room, office, laundry, staff room, cottage bedside the pool containing 2 guestrooms each with private shower.

The main house wing contains six guestrooms, each with private shower.  The veranda roof on the upper floor needs replacing as does some dry wall interior cladding. The main house public room wing requires a new roof over the bar/dining room and terrace.

The lounge library downstairs requires some dry wall cladding also.

One guest cottage in the garden with private shower.  Part of the roof requires repair and the veranda roof needs replacing.

The pictures shown are prior to hurricane Maria.

Finding opportunities like these are rare do not miss out!
